Ladies and Gentlemen, We Have PANTS!!

The church updated their new pants policy and added our mission in it. So the Sisters can wear pants now while knocking doors. It's amazing that our mission wasn't considered "hot or humid" enough before. But...who wants to wear pants when it's 95 degrees outside?

Another cool thing that happened was last p day we went to a restaurant on the ocean and we saw 3 DOLPHINS! So cool! They came right up to us to say hi. Florida is truly the promised land!

Also, conference was great! So good to hear from all of the apostles and from the prophet. Conference is pretty different on the mission because we watch it at church, and we are pretty much the only ones who come! We watched the first session in Cape Coral, and we were literally the only 2 people in the church. Kind of lonely...

So we watched the rest of conference in Ft. Myers with the other missionaries. The last session was during a huge rain storm. One of the biggest I have ever seen. There was so much lightning and thundering that it started flickering in and out, and then we lost power. We were in complete darkness. The only source of light was the bishop's phone. He pulled up conference and we all crowded around to hear. The first thing that came back on was Elder Rasband quoting Helaman 5:12.

12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

It was a real testimony builder to be safe inside the church while everything outside was complete chaos. It was a very literal example of the concept that through Christ we can find safety for the soul.

One other miracle we saw this week was with James! He is the father of a part member family. His wife is a member and his mother and father in law are active members as well. He has diabetes, and had his leg amputated recently. He is also waiting for a kidney transplant. All of these challenges have really brought him to God, and he is excited to be baptized on the 22nd of October! Can't wait!

That's all from Cape Coral! Can't wait for another week of miracles!
