"Hello we are the missionaries from...."
"Do you have any idea that the super bowl is on?"
"Yes, but God sent us here to..."
*door slammed in the face*
That's pretty much how our day went yesterday. And on top of that, it's COLD!!!! 65 degrees here is WAY colder than 65 degrees in Utah. I used to laugh at the Floridians who wear hats and coats in this weather, but now I am right along with them!
So...last P-day we went golfing with the Elders. It was fun, but apparently golf is a "quiet sport," and Sister Tui and I weren't very good at that part. We were also really bad at it and we destroyed a bunch of grass and almost killed a few ducks. Needless to say, we are not golfing with the elders today :)
Richard is getting baptized on Saturday! We are beyond excited! We are still waiting to hear whether or not Lindsay and Brandon can be baptized along with him. We need permission from Scott, their biological dad. We were really nervous because Richard hadn't quit smoking yet. He told us that he set his date to quit smoking for the 6th of Feb, one week before his baptism. We were so nervous about this because he can't mess up at all. But so far he has been so strong! Smoke free for 3 days now.
So now we are just hoping and praying and keeping the faith high. It's going to be an amazing week, and an amazing baptism!
Jessica and Dellie both came to church on Sunday. We had 5 investigators there, and it was quite the challenge, but it was so good.
Things are pretty good in the hood right now. We had a bit of a rough finding week, but we are so blessed with the gators we already have!
